Dos Pueblos boys water polo went undefeated en route to the 2025 Don Lugo Tournament Championship on Saturday.

The Chargers used a balanced scoring attack to earn an 18-7 win over Orange Lutheran in the semifinals to set up a 15-4 victory over Santiago to claim the title.

In the matchup with Orange Lutheran, Dos Pueblos led by a slim 4-3 margin before exploding for seven goals in the second quarter to pull away and never look back.

Seven different Chargers found the back of the net in the semifinal victory, including five goals by Channing Wigo. Meanwhile, Ben Fuhrer and Adam Gelman each scored three times.

Skyler Carroll, Grant Nelson and Lucas Neushul all scored twice, while Kevin Yan rounded out the scoring. Aricin Marshall dished out five assists and Koa Zertuche collected nine saves.

In the championship game, Dos Pueblos had its foot on the gas from the opening whistle. The Chargers went up 5-1 in the opening quarter and held a 7-2 lead at halftime, which proved to be more than enough for the win.

The Dos Pueblos defense totaled 19 steals as a unit and held the Santiago offense to just one goal per quarter. Nelson had three of those steals while Wigo, Carroll and Max Gelman combined for six steals. In the cage, Zertuche stopped 11 shots.

Nelson also led the Charger offense with five goals in the championship victory.
