Dos Pueblos boys water polo lost a pair of heartbreakers on Saturday, falling to both Clovis West and College Park in double overtime in the Arroyo Grande tournament.

Clovis West 8, Dos Pueblos 7

In the first matchup of the day, the Chargers started strong by jumping out to a 4-2 lead after the first quarter.

However, Clovis West began to creep up on Dos Pueblos with a pair of goals in the second compared to the Chargers’ one to cut the lead down to 5-4.

After each team scored a goal in the third, a dramatic finish was in store in the fourth. The game didn’t actually end in the fourth, however, as two goals from the Golden Eagles and just one from Dos Pueblos sent the matchup into overtime at 7-7.

At the 1:11 mark in overtime, Clovis West found the back of the net to complete the comeback 8-7 victory.

College Park 9, Dos Pueblos 8

Dos Pueblos had the script flipped on them against College Park, as the Falcons carried a 4-2 advantage after the first quarter.

The Chargers fought back in the second, holding College Park scoreless while registering a pair of goals to tie it up at 4-4.

More back-and-forth play ensued in the third quarter with the teams alternating goals until it was tied at six apiece heading into the fourth.

The fourth was almost a mirror image of the third quarter, as both the Chargers and Falcons scored twice to send into overtime for the second game in a row for Dos Pueblos.

College Park scored its game-winning goal at the 2:47 mark, sending the Chargers home with back-to-back losses.
