Dos Pueblos boys water polo swept its doubleheader to begin the Arroyo Grande Tournament on Friday in Arroyo Grande.

The Chargers kicked off the weekend with a 16-12 win over San Luis Obispo before taking down Righetti by a score of 20-6.

Dos Pueblos found itself down 3-2 after the first quarter against SLO, but it quickly responded with a 6-1 second quarter to take an 8-4 halftime lead and roll to the win from there.

Grant Nelson led the Chargers with eight goals in the win, while Adam Gelman, Wyatt Warkentin and Lucas Neushul all scored twice. Skyler Carroll and Max Gelman each scored once. Koa Zerutche tallied eight saves in the cage.

In the victory over Righetti, Dos Pueblos raced out to an 8-0 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.

Nelson once again poured in eight goals for the Chargers, Lucas Neushul scored four times and Adam Gelman, Max Gelman and Carroll netted two goals apiece.

Meanwhile, Warkentin collected five assists and three steals, and Tyler Racine had eight saves and three assists.

Dos Pueblos will take on Clovis East in its first tournament game on Saturday.
