Hazel Burgess and Paige Ferro each returned punts for touchdowns, helping Dos Pueblos to a pair of wins at the Ventura Flag Football Tournament on Saturday.
Burgess’ return came in an 18-6 win over Scripps Ranch of the San Diego Section. Ferro scored against Fillmore. She also rushed for two TDs in a 58-0 rout.
Ruby Streatfeild tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Kinda Ahmad-Reda in the Scripps Ranch victory.
Streatfield added two more TD passes against Fillmore, hitting Brooklyn Hedricks and Ahmad-Reda for the scores. Annabelle Gren connected with CiCI Moccardini and Ava Taiji passed to Burgess for touchdowns.
On defense, Hedricks and Julie Brunner had pick 6’s, while Alma Basave and Malkonian also had interceptions against Fillmore. Makyla Watt had a sack against Scripps Ranch.
Dos Pueblos improves to 8-2.
