Justine Katz recorded a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Gianna Nichols knocked down four three-points en route to 18 points, leading the Dos Pueblos girls basketball team to a 66-23 rout of Lompoc on Saturday at Sovine Gym.

“We are starting to really gel as a team,” said DP coach Manny Murillo. “It was a great bounce back game for us after our overtime loss (to Cabrillo) on Thursday.”

Savannah Riley was a force on the boards with 10 rebounds, and freshman Carly Letendre had four steals to lead the defense.

“We achieved one of our five team goals we have for this season, which was everyone get a bucket in a single game,” said a happy Murillo. “This shows how much of an unselfish team they are to have that on their vision board. They all want everyone to succeed. I’m proud of them.”

The Chargers play defending CIF-SS Division 1-champion Viewpoint on Monday at 2 p.m. at home.
