Dos Pueblos girls flag football earned a pair of wins on the first day of the LA Chargers Invitational Tournament on Friday.

The tournament, which is sponsored by Oakley, features some of the best teams in the CIF Southern Section.

The Chargers began the weekend with a 20-6 victory over Fullerton High behind a strong all-around performance from Kindah-Ahmad Reda, who caught a touchdown pass and secured two interceptions, one being a pick-six.

Kacey Hurley threw the touchdown to Ahmad-Reda and followed that up with a successful two-point conversion connection with Brooklyn Hedricks.

Ruby Streatfeild added a rushing touchdown of her own, while her sister, Sterling, hauled in an interception.

In the second game of the day, Dos Pueblos pulled out a 12-0 victory over Aliso Niguel in a rematch from last year’s CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs.

Hurley rushed for a touchdown and threw another to Hedricks, while Sterling Streatfeild came away with another interception in the win.

The Chargers (4-0) will compete in the gold bracket on Saturday as a No. 1 seed, with their first game coming against Western Christian.
