Dos Pueblos girls water polo came away with a sixth-place finish at the Villa Park Tournament over the weekend, ending with a record of 3-2.
The trio of wins and pair of losses brought the Chargers’ overall season record to 3-4.
Dos Pueblos 15, Santa Monica 1
The Chargers offense erupted for a 14-goal victory to open up the tournament.
They jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, cruising to the win.
Frankie Court’s five goals led the offense while Megan Garner tallied eight saves in the cage.
Dos Pueblos 15, Yucaipa 6
The Chargers stayed hot in the second game of the weekend, turning in another 15-goal performance for their second straight win.
Court and Hana Abel scored a team-high three goals apiece to lead the charge. Defensively, Addison Parrish and Abel dominated the pool en route to the victory.
Los Alamitos 8, Dos Pueblos 7
The Chargers were handed their first loss of the weekend by Los Alamitos in a tightly-contested matchup.
After trailing at the end of the first quarter, Dos Pueblos battled back to tie the game at 4-4 heading into halftime.
They carried that momentum into the second half, as the Chargers led 5-4 after three quarters.
However, Los Alamitos took over in the fourth quarter and came away with the win.
Devereaux Wigo and Abel scored two goals apiece in the losing effort.
Dos Pueblos 8, La Jolla 3
The Charger defense came out to play against La Jolla, holding their opponent to three goals to lead the team to their third win of the weekend.
Megan Garner picked up eight saves in the game while Parrish once again made her impact felt defensively.
On the offensive end of the pool, Wigo and Abel once again each had a pair of goals.
San Clemente 9, Dos Pueblos 8
Hindered by foul trouble and an injury to a starter, the Chargers capped off the tournament with a loss to San Clemente.
Dos Pueblos started the game hot, leading 2-0 after the first and 6-3 at halftime.
From there, San Clemente dominated, outscoring the Chargers 6-2 to squeak out the one-goal win.
Abel led the team in goals with two while Alina King dished out four assists. In the cage, Garner picked up nine blocks.
