Max Cruse struck out 15 to lead the Dos Pueblos Little League 13-under All Stars to a 4-1 victory over Ventura-Foothill on Wednesday for a spot in the championship game of the District 63 Intermediate Division tournament.
Cruse pitched a seven-inning complete game.
DPLL scored two runs in the first inning. Kian Palmer and Adan Macias reached base on a single and walk, respectively, and they were driven home by Seth Orozco and Max Cruse.
After Foothill made it a 2-1 game in the fourth inning, DPLL answered with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
DPLL will play for the title on Saturday at 12:30 at Foothill LL. The opponent will be determined.
The DPLL 13u All-Star team is made up of Matty Brennan, Holden Brey, Alex Casady, Max Cruse, Charlie Douglas, Issac Gutierrez, Kai Hicks, Carson Iza, Adan Macias, Isaac Moreno, Skylar Ngai, Seth Orozco and Kian Palmer. The team is managed and Dan Brennan, with assistant coaches Jeff Palmer and Jeff Hicks.
