The Dos Pueblos LL 13U All-Stars took down Foothill LL, 9-2, to capture the District 63 Intermediate Division Championship on Saturday at Girsh Park.

The district title is the fifth for this specific All-Star group at DPLL, and the fourth title in a row.

“This team is really special,” DPLL manager Chad Wang said. “We’ve played together since 7U. To win four District Championships in a row is not an easy feat. I’m very proud and fortunate to be a part of this team.”

DPLL opened the championship game with a bang, scoring three runs in the first inning to take the lead and never look back en route to the win.

Zane Pflanzer roped a pair of triples to lead the offense, while Luka Wilson and Philip Lowe tallied two hits apiece as well.

Cash Phillips tossed five strong innings for DPLL, including retiring the first 12 batters he faced. Andrew Wang capped off the win with two shutout innings of relief. The DPLL defense did not commit an error.

DPLL will now compete in the Section 1 tournament, which will also be hosted at Girsh Park. The opening game of the tournament is on Friday against the District 13 and District 65 champions.

The DPLL 13U All-Stars are Andrew Wang, Cash Phillips, Isaiah Estrella, Jacob Stock, James Chou, Juan Meza, Luka Wilson, Matias Csordas, Oliver Palmer, Philip Lowe, and Zane Pflanzer.

The team is managed by Chad Wang with coaches Ray Pflanzer, Matt Stock, and Adam Phillips.

The Intermediate Division (also called 50-70), is comprised of kids ages 11-13.
