The annual freeway series between the Dos Pueblos LL and Goleta Valley LL Major Division winners took place on Tuesday, with Dos Pueblos’ A’s taking on Goleta Valley’s Cubs.
The Dos Pueblos A’s came out on top by a score of 6-1 powered by an impressive 13-strikeout performance on the mound from James Chou, who allowed just two hits across six innings.
The Major Division is made up of players ages 9-12.
The A’s got on the board in the first thanks to a run-scoring triple by Solomon Bodenhamer and an RBI single off the bat of Ryan Means. Hugo Ritter then helped extend the lead in the third.
Jackson Dessert and Isaiah Estrella each tallied two hits for DPLL while Chou and Ritter drove in two runs apiece.
The DPLL Major A’s roster includes Ezekiel “Zeke” Springer, Hugo Ritter, Isaiah Estrella, Jackson Dessert, James Chou, Jeremiah Bodenhamer, Solomon Bodenhamer, Jeremiah Lopez, Kalani Douglas, Maddox Avila, Marina Ngai and Ryan Means.
The A’s are managed by Jeremy Bodenhamer with assistant coaches Shane Means and Evi Limon-Ngai.
