The locals swept the Channel League Girls Tennis Championships on Tuesday afternoon at Santa Barbara High.
Dos Pueblos’ Mel Mayo came out on top in the singles tournament, completing her run at back-to-back titles.
Meanwhile, the Santa Barbara High sister pairing of Caitlyn and Nicole Buist captured the doubles title. It was also their second championship in as many years.

In the singles championship, Mayo defeated fellow Dos Pueblos Charger Ellie Triplett in three back-and-forth sets, 7-6 (5), 2-6, 10-8.
“Competing against Ellie in the final was an incredibly challenging and rewarding experience,” Mayo said. “She’s pushed me to become a better player throughout my time in high school, and I have so much respect for her game.
“I’m proud of my work rate today and how I was able to stay focused and move Ellie around the court. It was a tough match, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have faced such a strong competitor. I also want to thank Coach Alan (Richter) for his support and guidance throughout the season.”
In doubles, the Buist sisters took down the San Marcos duo of Kate Selby and Sydney Posch in two straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
The CIF-SS Girls Tennis playoff brackets will be released on Monday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m.
