Channel League rivals Dos Pueblos and San Marcos will compete in the inaugural Girls Flag Football CIF-SS Playoffs this year.

Both the Chargers and Royals were slotted into the Division 1 bracket after successful regular seasons. In the Channel League Tournament, San Marcos came in second and Dos Pueblos placed third.

The Chargers will host their opening-round matchup against Aliso Niguel on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. at Scott O’Leary Stadium.

While Dos Pueblos ended the year with a record of 17-4, Aliso Niguel went 24-4 to finish first in the South Coast League.

On the other side of the bracket, the Royals will be on the road to begin their quest for a CIF-SS title as they take on Santa Margarita on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m.

San Marcos turned in a strong regular-season campaign to the tune of a 14-3 record while Santa Margarita earned an at-large bid from the Trinity League at 18-5.

With the two Channel League foes on opposite sides of the bracket, a crosstown playoff matchup would require the teams to reach the CIF-SS Finals.
