Dos Pueblos was held t0 17 points in the first half and suffered a 54-36 loss to Buena in a Channel League girls basketball game on Thursday at Sovine Gym.
The visiting Bulldogs limited Justine Katz to seven points and Carly Letendre to five.
Gianna Nichols scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three blocked shots to lead the Chargers. Lauren Robles had nine points.
Coach Manny Murillo praised the defensive work of Letendre, who held Buena’s leading scorer to eight points.
“Our team defense was good against her as well, but everyone else on their team made more shots than I’ve seen them make all season. So credit to them for making shots,” said Murillo.
He said Nichols “stepped up today and played a good game on offense and defense. She’s a tough kid that plays with heart.”
The Chargers (7-11, 2-3) are scheduled to play Ventura on Saturday.
