The local Channel League swim squads competed in the league championship prelims on Tuesday at San Marcos, with many swimmers punching their tickets to the finals on Thursday.
Dos Pueblos
The Chargers turned in a stellar showing in the prelims, with 61 of the 64 individual swims advancing to the finals on Thursday.
Tyler Racine (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle), Ty Abel (500 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Andrew Davies-Nunez (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Reeves Schley (100 fly, 100 backstroke) led the Dos Pueblos boys by qualifying in a pair of events.
Meanwhile, Grant Nelson, Lucas Neushul, Adam Gelman, Ben Fuhrer, Aricin Marshall, Eli Carnaghe and Liam Young advanced to the finals as well.
The Dos Pueblos girls to qualify in two events were Addison Parrish (100 freestyle, 200 freestyle), Megan Garner (50 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Kay Taylor-Ng (50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Wynona Shea (200 IM, 100 breaststroke), Talia Marshall (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle), Parker Bryant (100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Keira McAvoy (200 IM, 500 freestyle) and Dasha Dzreeva (200 IM, 100 fly).
The other girls competing in the finals are Riley Moore, Dev Wigo, Pessia Fygenson and Kaj Ruskey.

Carpinteria @ CCL Prelims
The Warriors turned in some strong performances at the Citrus Coast League prelims on Tuesday at Hueneme High.
Carpinteria swimmers claimed 40 individual personal best times out of the 54 races swam. The Warrior boys claimed the top seed in seven of the eight individual events while the girls earned five individual top times heading into the finals on Thursday.
“I am so proud of today’s efforts and although no points have been scored, we set ourselves up well to defend our league championship titles,” Carpinteria High head coach Jon Otsuki said.
Jacob Otsuki and Lucy Moore picked up CIF Div. 2 consideration times in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, respectively.
