Dos Pueblos track & field split up its squad to compete in the Tiger Invitational and Arcadia Invitational on Friday.

At the Tiger Invitational, the underclassmen on the Charger girls team competed in the Rising Stars Division.

Dos Pueblos had four racers participate in the 1,600-meter finals: Abby Chou (5:37.87, 15th), Iyla Herrick (5:43.60, 22nd), Mitzi Myers (5:50.43) and Avery Butler (6:10.67, 52nd).

Chou, Herrick and Myers all registered personal records, while Chou’s time moved her up to 17th in the Channel League standings.

In the 3,200-meter Rising Stars Finals, Selah Blackwell finished in 12:27.19 to take home 12th place while Gwen Shea’s time of 12:56.46 was good for 27th place.

Meanwhile, Eamon Gordon made his return to competition at the Arcadia Invitational on Friday.

He turned in a strong showing, taking 18th place in the second Open 3,200-meter race.

“His early race positioning had him stuck inside the pack,” Dos Pueblos head coach David Jackson said. “After working himself free from the commotion, he began moving his way up along the outside.”

The Chargers will compete in the Mt. SAC Relays next Friday when Gordon enters the 3,200-meter race and a pair of 4×1-mile relay squads look to impress.
