Junior wrestler Victoria Bernard of Dos Pueblos won the 111-pound division title at the California Girls Invitational Tournament in Morro Bay on Saturday.

Bernard recorded two pins in four match victories.
In the final, she defeated Khloe Soria of Porterville, 21-3.
“She went out there to work her stuff, and it showed,” said coach Matthew Bernard. “Victoria’s finals match showcased her patience and wrestling savviness as she completed a very technical and solid win against a tough a tough opponent. It’s very exciting to watch her work.
Freshman Ashka Rios and junior Alyssa Warner also competed for the Chargers.
“As first-year wrestlers, they showed true grit and wrestled tough,” said coach Bernard. “It’s is great to see them both improve and grow.”
The Chargers host Pacifica in a dual meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Santa Maria High won the team title at the Girls CIT.
