The Channel League-champion Dos Pueblos girls golf team won its 11th straight match, beating Santa Barbara, 247-267, in windy conditions on Monday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.

Victoria Chen of the Chargers shot a 43 to earn medalist honors. Lauren Fitzgerald was low scorer for the Dons with a 46 and DP’s Sagarika Manian fired a 47.

“It seems that this year every time we play Santa Barbara things get interesting,” DP coach Dan Choi said. “Today, the wind definitely made things challenging out at the Santa Barbara Golf Course, which made Victoria’s 43 all that more impressive. Freshman Sagarika Manian and Senior Camille Robinson also put in good performances with a 47 and 50, respectively.

“We needed our whole team today to get the W. We knew that Santa Barbara would be a tough match and it lived up the billing. They are well coached and alway give us their best.”

Dos Pueblos is now 11-0 overall and 9-0 in Channel League.

Fitzgerald parred holes 3 and 8 for Santa Barbara and Riley Malmsten had a par on No. 6.

“I am proud of the girls’ perseverance in gusty winds that approached 40 mph at times,” said Santa Barbara coach Ryan Throop.

Santa Barbara is 5-4 in league and 9-5 overall.
