The Dos Pueblos boys tied the score at 1-1 in the 38th minute, but then fell to Channel Islands 5-1 in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs Friday.
Channel Islands scored just a minute before halftime to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
“That second goal, combined with losing one of our strong players, Max Early, to any injury, was a tough way to go into the half,” Charger coach Matt York said.
The Chargers, who finished third in the Channel League, finish the season at 13-8-4. The Raiders, winners of the Pacific View League, are 10-4-7.
“I’m very proud of the guys for the season that they had, and all they overcame both in society but also within the program itself,” York said. “The seniors really showed us the meaning of resilience, and this class will leave Dos Pueblos with their head high and a legacy that we can look to follow in the years to come.
“Good luck to Channel Islands as they compete for the Division 2 crown.”
