Alex McCeney and Joaquin Riker combined for 27 points on Saturday night to lead Dos Pueblos to a 55-34 boys basketball win over Pakarunga of New Zealand.

McCeney scored 15 and Riker had 12 for the Chargers (2-6). DP took a 26-19 halftime lead, then dominated the third quarter, 20-4, to push the lead to 23 heading into the fourth quarter.

Kael Rillie and Baylor Huyck added nine points apiece.

“This was the last game of a two-week tour for Pakarunga,” said DP coach Joe Zamora. “They came out strong but we were able to control the tempo for most of the game. They were physical and ran their sets efficiently. I was proud of the way we were able to defend and not get rattled against their press.

“Joaquin had a good game tonight on both ends of the court and Alex McCeney took care of the ball. It was great seeing two different countries compete, and then have dinner together after!”

The Chargers will host Righetti next Thursday at 7 p.m.
