Ruben Mendoza shot a 3-over 74 to take medallist honors for Dos Pueblos in a Channel League win over Lompoc at Glen Annie Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Chargers’ Michael Gentry chipped in for an eagle on No. 7 on the way to a 75.
The team score was 435 to 534. Dos Pueblos is now 5-1 in league play and 6-4 overall.
“It was awesome to see all of my teammates shoot under 100 today,” Mendoza said.
In the girls competition, Victoria Chen and Camille Robinson shot matching 43s to lead Dos Pueblos to a 250-351 win over Lompoc.
“I was joking that my golfers are making me look good as a coach, although I can’t take any credit for all their hard work paying off,” Dos Pueblos girls coach Dan Choi said. “All five of our scoring golfers either tied their high school career best or bettered it. As a coach you really can’t ask for more.”
The Charger girls are 4-2 in both league play and overall.
