The Dos Pueblos girls golf team beat Lompoc in the Channel League golf opener at windy La Purisima Golf Course. The team score was 329-389.
Freshman Victoria Chen was the match medalist with a 53.
“As always, La Purisima lived up to its reputation of being one of the hardest courses on our schedule,” said DP coach Dan Choi. “With gale-force warnings, our girls were ready for a real battle. Conditions were very tough and although our scores were high, I was very proud of the way our team performed under the circumstances.
“More than half our girls had never played there before, and even more impressive was Victoria earning medalist honors her first time out there and as a freshman.”
