Dos Pueblos girls lacrosse won three games at the Rose Bowl Jamboree Tournament on Saturday in Pasadena.
The Chargers beat Millikan 12-2, Santa Monica 7-5 and El Dorado 9-6. The JV team also went 3-0 on the day.
Avery Ball and Olivia Geyling each scored seven goals and Natalie Grover had four to pace the DP attack.
“All three wins were built off plays with assists and perfect transitions down to goal,” said DP coach Samantha Limkeman. “Coraline Crannell made consistent passes to our scorers and led the way today with five assists. It was primarily a day played on attack.”
Said attacker Sydney Steele: “I was proud of our team for maintaining a high level of play in all three games, even though it was a long day. It was exciting to see everyone come together to play as a single unit. We really made good connections on attack that led to some great assists and goals.”
Brooke Essig and Macy Lawler led the Chargers on defense. The DP midfielder won 31 draws and lost just 12 in the three games.
“It was fun for our program to both take first place in our brackets,” said Limkeman. “It’s always interesting to play other teams outside of our regular season play. It makes our team better as we have to adapt our play style, and I think we did just that.”
Dos Pueblos (5-3) returns home to play Royal on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
