Buena’s Taylin Butterbaugh kicked a field goal on the last play of the game to beat Dos Pueblos 26-24 in a non-league football game Friday night at Buena.
Butterbaugh is the daughter of Trish Butterbaugh, the successful girls soccer coach at Buena.
Dos Pueblos took a 24-23 lead when Johnny Alavarado busted loose for a 50-yard touchdown run with 7:21 left in the fourth quarter. Alvarado is a call-up from the JV team.
Baylor Huyck caught a 15-yard scoring pass from quarterback Josiah Severson and Alonzo Crus had a 3-yard TD run for DP (0-4).
The Chargers missed a field goal in the third quarter.
DP had a 14-7 lead in the second quarter, but Buena tied the score on a 5-yard run with 35 seconds left.
The Chargers fumbled on the ensuing kickoff and the Bulldogs capitalized. They scored with 5.3 seconds remaining to take a 20-14 halftime lead.
