Dos Pueblos hosted its first-ever official CIF playoff game Saturday, and turned it into a 22-0 rout of visiting Valencia.

Sydney Steele, Brooke Essig, and Avery Ball all scored five goals apiece for the Chargers. They dominated the draws 19-4, with Essig winning seven of them.

Taylor Orefice, Autumn Litten, Natalie Grover, Lauren Elliott, Makayla Severson, and Caitlin Duncan also found the back of the net for Dos Pueblos.

“The girls implemented everything we’ve been working on in our practices and it showed,” DP coach Jess Delgadillo said. “Attack looked the most cohesive I’ve ever seen them”

The Chargers, now 13-1, will face Chaparral next week in a Division 2 quarterfinal matchup.

This is the first year for CIF-sanctioned playoffs for the sport.
