Dos Pueblos split games on the opening day of the Arroyo Grande Tournament Friday, falling to Clovis North 9-6 in the morning and rallying to beat Garces Catholic 9-4 in the afternoon.

The Chargers were tied 6-6 with Clovis North in the fourth quarter before running into foul trouble.

“By the end of the game, three players had received their third major foul and were out of the game, allowing for a four-goal fourth-quarter outburst by Clovis North,” Dos Pueblos coach Chris Parrish said.

Reggie Robles was outstanding in goal for the Chargers, notching 14 saves and a pair of steals. Brody Luke scored a game-high four goals, and Jaden Moore finished out the Charger scoring with two.

Luke continued his scoring run in the afternoon, tallying six goals in Dos Pueblos’ 9-4 win over Garces Catholic.

The Chargers also benefitted from a great defensive effort. Robles turned back four shots in goal and added five steals.

“Jaden Moore again played a key defensive role as he took on Graces’ center for the whole game, finishing just behind Reggie with four steals, as well as drawing two penalties on the offensive end,” Parrish said.

Aden Bishop, Ben Fuhrer and Cody Pearce also scored goals for Dos Pueblos.

The Chargers are now 2-1 on the season.
