Alessa Somer and Kate Scherz swept three singles sets apiece, each losing only one game, to lead Dos Pueblos to a 12-6 win over Simi Valley in the first round of the Division 2 CIF-Southern Section playoffs on Wednesday.
“I was very impressed with the focus and intensity the DP team brought to the courts,” Charger coach Laura Housinger said. “All players contributed to this strong win, and we look forward to another match this Friday.”
Olivia Simon also won a singles set, and the Dos Pueblos doubles teams of Mia Chou/Adriel Amador and Cami Chou/ Chloe Harrah both went 2-1. The team of Saned Crespo and Taryn Sager also won a set.
