Dr. Angela Hsu and Kerry Kelly will serve as event co-chairs for a fundraiser that will benefit the Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center.
Called An Evening to Explore Jodi House at MOXI, the event will be 5:30-7:30 p.m., Oct. 23 at MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation.
Now in its third year, An Evening to Explore Jodi House at MOXI is a cocktail party fundraiser to benefit programming for survivors of acquired brain injury.
Dr. Hsu, a pediatrician and pediatric intensivist, is a Jodi House Board member and former chair of pediatrics at Cottage Children’s Medical Center.
Previously, she was the medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Sedation Center at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Currently, Dr. Hsu is at the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department. Dr. Hsu is involved with the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara and is an alumna of the Katherine Harvey Fellows leadership program, sponsored by Leading from Within.
Kelly is a Jodi House Board member and past educator who has taught at the high school and college graduate levels. She is past president of the Santa Barbara chapter of the National Charity League. As president of the chapter during the start of the pandemic, she led some 300 members in reimagining chapter operations virtually.
Adriana Mezic, president of the Jodi House Board of Directors, will serve as event vice-chair after having co-chaired this event the past two years. She holds degrees in nursing and health education.
Attendees at the benefit will enjoy bites from Catering Connection and complimentary wine from Margerum Wine Company. Guitarist Chris Fossek will provide music for the event.
The evening will include a short program during which a Jodi House member will share their personal story of brain injury recovery.
