
Dr. Marya T. Schulte was born Dec. 14, 1976, passed away on Aug. 27, 2026.
Marya had been a top student all her life and achieved awards and honors throughout her education, from St. Raphael School to Dos Pueblos High School in 1995.
Marya attended UC San Diego, where she was dedicated to reaching her goals as a student. She devoted many years toward her education, and eventually earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from UC San Diego.
She began her career helping veterans with addiction issues and PTSD. Later she shifted her work toward research in various studies. She also participated in a program utilizing an app to help obese teens with their weight issues.
Marya was a kind and gentle soul. She loved her dog, a Frenchie, named Bean with all her heart. Bean now lives with her parents and will always remain a connection to their daughter.
Marya was well-loved by her family, friends, patients, and anyone who was graced by knowing her.
Marya is survived by her parents Henry and Dundie Schulte; sister, Amber Schulte; nephew Daxton Donati; niece Daylon Donati; grandmother Maria Littmann; and step-grandfather Alex Littmann.
Marya is also the granddaughter of Rudi Schulte, and Oscar and Johanna Nelson who preceded her in death.
There will be a memorial service, 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Santa Ynez Mission in Solvang.
