A motorist was injured Thursday when his vehicle slammed into a utility pole on Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.
Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 10 a.m to the 2900 block of Las Positas, where the silver sedan had sheared off the Southern California Edison pole adjacent to the municipal golf course, fire Engineer Kevin Corbett told Noozhawk.
The driver, a man in his 40s whose name was not available, suffered minor to moderate injuries, and was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Details on his condition were not available.
Southern California Edison crews responded to the scene to fix the utility lines, and Las Positas was shut down between Stanley Drive and McCaw Avenue during the repairs.
Power was reported out to some customers in the area after the crash, which was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
