A driver was killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash near the Wye area in the city of Lompoc, according to the Lompoc Police Department.
Shortly after 2 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the incident at the intersection of Highway 1 and Hancock Drive, said Sgt. Sergio Arias.
“Unfortunately the driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Arias said.
The driver’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, Arias added.
The crash remained under investigation.
