Santa Barbara 5, Burroughs 4

Santa Barbara scored two runs on an error in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead against Burroughs and held on for a 5-4 win Saturday.

The scores turned the tables on a three-run Burroughs effort in the top of the fifth that had put the Bears up 4-3.

The Dons scored first in the game on an RBI single by Jack Holland in the first inning.

Santa Barbara was aided by error-free defensive play — including seven chances perfectly handled by Dane Dawson — and a spotless 4-for-4 in stolen bases, two by freshman Kai Mault.

Freshman Eric Anthony, making his first varsity appearance for the Dons, started the game, and allowed three hits and one run in four innings, with a strikeout.

The team had six hits, with tallied six hits, Zane Lee-Paulick and Cal Wipf collected multiple hits.
