
Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) will present Possibilities: An Artist Talk with Edie Fake, 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec 15 in SBMA’s Mary Craig Auditorium, 1130 State St.
Fake’s painting “Suasion” is on view in the SBMA exhibition Friends and Lovers, an exploration of LGBTQ artists in the Loeb Gallery through March 2.
In his artist talk, Fake will share insights into a widely respected and varied practice that includes drawings, paintings, installations, comics, books and zines.
Fake’s work has been exhibited in solo shows including at Berkeley Art Museum and Film Archive; Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse; and in New York City at The Drawing Center.
His work is held in the collections of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, Columbus; Des Moines Art Center, Iowa, among others.
A graduate of RISD, Fake now lives in Twenty Nine Palms, California.
