Our beloved father Edward R Garcia Sr. of Goleta passed away peacefully, Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, surrounded by his family at the age of 87.

Dad was a proud veteran, serving in the Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he continued his work in the construction field, and retired 30 years later.

Dad met the love of his life, Carmen Placencia Garcia, and knew she was the one. They affectionately called each other Lalito and Carmenlita. They were married more than 61 years, blessed with six children, Edward Jr., Rachel (Richard Sr.), Margie, Carmen (Armando), Cipriano Soupy (Kim), Lupe (Todd), and her grandchildren Richard Jr., Daniel, Vincent, Gregory, Nicolas, twins Olivia and Vanessa (his godchildren), Frankie, David, Cipriano Jr. (CJ), and Samantha (Lala).

Our Dad was always happy and loving,and touched so many lives with his kind soul. He led by example, and there was never a job our Dad would not tackle and complete.  

In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Any event the grandchildren had, Grandma and Grandpa were there.

Dad will be missed tremendously by his children, grandchildren, and so many others. By God’s loving grace, our parents are together again. Amor eterno.

Edward was predeceased by his loving wife Carmen; his mother Luz Rojas; his brothers Rudy Rojas, Robert Rojas, Eddie Rojas, Raymond Garcia; his sister Lupe Espino; and his son-in-law Richard Gonzales Sr.

Our Dad will be laid to rest with our mother on Wednesday, Feb 24, with a mass at St. Raphael’s Church. Due to COVID restrictions, the services will be private.
