Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD) has been honored as an Energy Efficiency Partner by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and SoCalGas for its ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible energy management across district facilities.

In recognition of the district’s energy-saving projects, LUSD received a rebate check for $12,152.50 and a framed certificate from both organizations at a recent School Board presentation.

“We are grateful for the partnership and support from SoCalGas and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber,” said Schools Superintendent Clara Finneran. “These energy savings directly benefit our students by allowing us to redirect resources back into classrooms and programs.”

The rebates are part of the Public Sector Regional Energy Pathways Program, managed by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber on behalf of SoCalGas.

Through the program, LUSD has realized $148,480 in total energy-efficiency resource savings and rebates over a five-year period, including both cost savings and infrastructure upgrades.

The chamber was joined by Dave Cross, program manager of the Public Sector Regional Energy Pathways Program; along with John Rohner of SoCalGas and Sarvi Moazomi of Energy Infrastructure Partners for the check presentation.

“Through its energy-saving initiatives, LUSD continues to lead by example in stewardship of taxpayer funds and environmental responsibility, aligning with its mission to maintain trusting relationships and high expectations so that every student achieves,” the district said.
