Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) has announced the addition of Eryn Shugart to its Board of Directors. She brings 15 years of experience in local nonprofit management.
Shugar currently serves as senior development director at Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. She previously worked as an adjunct faculty member in psychology and nursing for Santa Barbara City College, where she was instrumental in bringing a Healthy Aging Skills Competency Award and associate’s degree program.
“Eryn is a shining light that has done so much good for this community, and we’re so proud to have her on the board,” said David Selberg, Hospice of Santa Barbara CEO. “Local nonprofits face many unique challenges, and Eryn has seen and met them all head-on.”
A Santa Barbara native, Eryn earned her Ph.D in psychology from Claremont Graduate University and recently graduated from the Courage to Lead Program. She is an ambassador for the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce and is on Leading From Within’s alumni committee.
Prior to joining the board, Shugar served on HSB’s wellness and end of life committee for two years.
