In this interview, Noozhawk spoke with Sumner Smith at Events By Rincon to learn more about their venue.

Question: What year was your business established?

Answer: 1984.

Q: What do you specialize in?

A: Catering, wedding & event planning, private event & wedding venues, handcrafted food, unique venues, and rentals & planning all in one place!

Q: What attracted you to the wedding industry?

A: We love serving our community. Being a part of someone’s most important day is a privilege and honor.

Q: Can you share any testimonials from past clients that you have worked with?

A: “We wanted to drop you a note post-wedding to thank you immensely for absolutely everything you poured into making our wedding a hit last Saturday — not only for us but for all of our excited guests! Q: What is your payment structure and cancellation policy? Do you charge any travel or overtime fees?

Q: Do you have liability insurance?

A: Yes.

Q: What size weddings do you typically work with?

A: Anything from an intimate elopement to a large 300+ celebration!

Q: Do you provide your own equipment or work with other vendors?

A: We are an all inclusive event company. We provide the catering, bar, rentals, decor, lighting and planning.

We do also work with lots of amazing vendors (rentals, florals, etc.) as well, at our venue (Rincon Beach Club) and at other off-site venues we produce events at.

Q: How far in advance do you recommend clients book with you?

A: Typically we book weddings a year in advance. With Santa Barbara being a top wedding destination, the calendar books up quickly in advance. We are always happy to, and often do, work with clients that have a shorter or longer timeline.

Q: What makes you different from your competitors?

A: With over 35+ years of being in business and part of this community, we have a built a strong team, work dedication and passion for what we do. We care for our clients throughout the planning process and continue relationships past the event day.

A: We host an annual group tasting for our booked clients.
This is a night where our booked clients come to taste 40+ dishes, enjoy our open full bar, meet all of our staff and planners, have the opportunity to meet with some vendor partners, and browse our in-house rentals.
