Firefighters responded early Sunday to the North Fairview Avenue area of Goleta on reports of an explosion and fire, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls about an explosion came into the emergency dispatch center at about 5:25 a.m., fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

At a residence in the 5900 block of Via Lemora, off North Fairview Avenue north of Cathedral Oaks Road, crews found a 10-by-15-foot shed that was on fire next to the house, Safechuck said.

Firefighters quickly doused the blaze, and kept the flames from extending to the home.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the explosion and fire remained under investigation.
