A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with a home-invasion robbery in Isla Vista in November, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Gebremeskel, 19, of San Francisco was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Santa Barbara County Main Jail, spokeswoman Raquel Zick said Wednesday.

As part of the investigation into the incident, an arrest warrant and a search warrant were issued for Gebremeskel’s San Francisco residence.

They were served with the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department and a K-9 unit from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Zick said.

Gebremeskel was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.

In December, two suspects were arrested in San Francisco in connection with the incident, and two Isla Vista men were arrested in late November.

On Nov. 18, residents at a Sabado Tarde Road apartment reported being robbed by three men, two of whom had guns, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The men took computers, a wallet, a cell phone and cannabis, according to Zick, and held the victims at gunpoint.

Investigators believed the suspects specifically targeted the victims, the Sheriff’s Department said.
