With spring in full bloom, communities across Santa Barbara County are getting ready for Easter weekend with egg hunts, sunrise church services, and family-friendly festivities.

Santa Barbara

Egg Hunt Extravaganza at Santa Barbara Golf Club

The free event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the
Santa Barbara Golf Club at 3500 McCaw Ave. RSVPs are required here: playsantabarbara.com/events/event-registration.

The event features:

  • Egg hunts for ages 0-12
  • Bounce house
  • Face painting
  • Music
  • Snag Golf
  • Santa Barbara Police Command Center activities

Elings Park Great Egg Hunt

Elings Park will host its annual free egg hunt from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19.

Egg hunts are organized by age and begin at 10 a.m. Parking is $10 and limited. The park is located at 1298 Las Positas Road.

The event features:

  • More than 20,000 candy-filled eggs
  • Bounce houses
  • Face painting
  • Music
  • Photos with the Easter Bunny

Sunrise Service at Sunken Gardens

Calvary Chapel will host its 26th annual Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 20 at the Sunken Gardens, 1100 Anacapa St. in downtown Santa Barbara. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.

Goleta

Bunny Bonanza at Calle Real

The Towbes Group will present Bunny Bonanza from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Calle Real Shopping Center. The free event includes:

  • 5,000 stuffed eggs (egg hunt begins at 10 a.m.)
  • Bounce houses
  • Face painting
  • Balloon twister
  • Photo bus
  • Attendees can also enter a Bingo Passport raffle by collecting business signatures to win gift baskets valued at more than $500.

Sunrise Service at Goleta Beach

Christ Lutheran Church will host a sunrise service at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 20, at Goleta Beach at 5986 Sandspit Road. Coffee and pastries will be served afterward.

Santa Maria

Egg-Splore Our Parks

The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will host its Egg-Splore Our Parks spring egg hunt Friday through Sunday, April 18-20. Participants can search for golden egg signs across the following parks to win prizes:

  • Jim May Park
  • Preisker Park
  • Pioneer Park
  • Tunnell Park
  • Los Flores Ranch Park
  • Veterans Memorial Park

Elks Sunrise Service

Elks Recreation will host an Easter sunrise service at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 20, at the Elks
Event Center, 4040 Highway 101, Santa Maria.

Lompoc

Annual Egg Hunt at River Park

The Lompoc Parks and Recreation Division and the Kiwanis Club will present the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at River Park, located at Highway 246 and Sweeney Road.

The free event includes age-grouped egg hunts, with participants asked to bring their own
baskets. A hot dog lunch will be available for purchase. The Easter Bunny may make a special appearance for photos.

Egg hunt schedule:

  • Ages 3 and under: 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
  • Ages 4–5: 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.
  • Ages 6–8: 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
  • Ages 9–12: 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Solvang and Buellton

The Solvang Parks and Rec center will host the 34th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19th, at River View Park, located at 151 Sycamore Drive in Buellton.

This event features the Santa Ynez Valley’s largest egg hunt, along with activities, games, and Easter crafts. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m.
