The upcoming storm has a high risk of life-threatening and damaging flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
Evacuation Orders
The county ordered evacuations for this storm Friday. The affected areas include:
- Properties along waterways associated with the Thomas, Cave and Alisal burn areas.
- Properties in the vicinity of Sycamore Creek, from Stanwood Dr. down to parts of Ninos Dr., in the city of Santa Barbara.

The county lists all the local free locations here. Some stations are self-service and some do not include bags, they only include sand.
Park Your Car Away From Flood Zones for Free in Santa Barbara
Free parking for eligible residents is available on the rooftop of City Lot 2 (Canon Perdido and Chapala streets) from noon Saturday through 5 p.m. Thursday for the city’s free storm parking program.

School Closures & Government Closures
Santa Barbara-area schools, and Santa Barbara City College, canceled classes for Monday due to the weather forecast.
Many libraries and government buildings also planned to be closed Monday, with some employees working remotely.
No Jury Duty Monday
Superior Court officials told jurors not to report for service on Monday, Feb. 5, because of the hazardous weather, and to await instructions on when to show up again.
Freedom Warming Centers Activated
The warming centers for unhoused residents seeking shelter will be open Sunday and Monday night countywide, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Santa Maria: Atkinson Center at 1000 North Railroad.
Lompoc: Trinity Church Cafe at 500 East North Ave.
Santa Barbara: Trinity Episcopal Church at 1500 State St.
Carpinteria: Carpinteria Community Church at 1111 Vallecito Road
