Firefighters knocked down a fire in a building in Isla Vista’s downtown commercial district early Tuesday morning, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The fire was first reported at around 5:50 a.m. on the 900 block of Embarcadero Del Mar, next to Anisq’Oyo’ Park.

At that address are several restaurants; it was not immediately clear which one was impacted.

Fire investigators were still on scene as of 10 a.m.

“The public is advised to avoid the immediate area,” fire Capt. Mike Gray said.
