Firefighters responded late Monday afternoon to a residential structure fire in the San Roque neighborhood of Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara City Fire Department crews were dispatched at about 5:45 p.m. to the fire on the first block of Saint Francis Way.
Upon arrival they found a detached garage engulfed in flames, according to fire Battalion Chief Michael Hoose.
The fire may have started with an explosion or fire in a vehicle parked in the garage, but that could not immediately be confirmed, and the cause remained under investigation, Hoose told Noozhawk.
Firefighters announced the fire was under control shortly after 6 p.m., and kept the flames from spreading to the main residence, Hoose said.
All occupants were able to safely exit the residence, Hoose said, and no injuries were reported.
An SUV that was parked in the garage was damaged or destroyed in the fire.
