A small vegetation fire briefly closed Highway 101 lanes just south of Dos Pueblos Canyon Road west of Goleta on Sunday.
Shortly after 11 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the incident north of Links Way, according to Karen Cruz-Orduña, Fire Department spokesperson.
Firefighters found the blaze in the center median and quickly stopped the forward progress of the flames, she added.
Due to heavy smoke, at least one lane in the area was closed for a short time, and firefighters warned that smoke might impact traffic so motorists should expect delays.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
