Firefighters responded Tuesday to a residential structure fire in the Ellwood area of Goleta.

Santa Barbara County crews were dispatched shortly after 11 a.m. to the fire in a single-family home on the 300 block of Pebble Beach Drive.

Smoke and flames were observed by a neighbor, who called 9-1-1, according to fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.

A working fire was declared, and additional firefighting resources were called to the scene.

After a search, the single-story home was found to be unoccupied, Safechuck said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which remained under investigation.
