Firefighters on Wednesday stopped forward progress on a 4- to 5-acre vegetation fire near Casmalia, west of Orcutt.

Fire crews first converged on the area of Black Road and Highway 1 shortly after 3 p.m.

“Crews continue to work the perimeter. Final acreage will be updated once fully determined,” Santa Barbara County Fire Department Capt. Mike Gray said.

Additional information was not immediately available.
