Firefighters quickly doused a series of small vegetation fires that sparked Saturday along Highway 154 near Paradise Road in the upper Santa Ynez Valley.
The largest of the fires, which were reported shortly after 8 a.m., was about 1.5 acres near Paradise Road, according to Capt. Scott Safechuck of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Highway 154 was closed for a time between Foothill Road on the east and Highway 246 on the west, while crews battled the blazes.
It subsequently was reopened.
Crews from the county, Los Padres National Forest, and Cal Fire, responded to the incident.
No injuries were reported, and cause of the fires was under investigation.
