The Santa Ynez Chamber of Commerce will host its inaugural Santa Ynez Art Walk, a community-wide celebration of art in all forms, Oct. 2-11 throughout the Santa Ynez township.
More than 25 participating businesses will showcase a particular artist of their choosing during business hours.
The variety of art will range from painting by notable local creators, sculpture, pottery, one-of-a-kind hat-making, leather art, hand-crafted silver jewelry, and even the art of creative cocktails.
The Santa Ynez Art Walk opens with an evening of parties, 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 throughout downtown Santa Ynez.
Participating merchants are each putting their own spin on the celebration, with offerings that include whiskey tasting, live DJs and artist demonstrations. Visitors can stroll from store to store throughout the evening, meeting local artists and makers along the way.Â
Santa Ynez businesses celebrating the Art Walk opening night include Artiste Winery and Gallery, Denee’s Interiors, KJ Murphy, Charlotte’s, Forage Floral, SYV Pantry, MER, Perch Lifestyle, Valley Girl, and the Santa Ynez Historical Museum and Carriage House.
The family-friendly Art Walk offers activities for adults and kids:
On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Santa Ynez historic little Branch Library will have craft packets for children; Denee’s Interiors will have chalk for kids to draw in its courtyard.
Forage Floral is hosting a figure-drawing workshop on Oct. 8; the Old Mission Santa Ines will have two free tours, Oct. 6 and 10, with emphasis on its historic 18th century artwork.
