Five local girls beach volleyball teams enjoyed successful regular seasons and will look to continue that success in the CIF-SS playoffs.

Here are the first-round matchups and divisional placements of all five teams competing in the postseason.

San Marcos (Div. 1)

The Royals rolled through the regular season, going 21-3 and undefeated in Channel League play to capture a league championship. Their stellar play landed them in the CIF-SS Div. 1 playoffs.

San Marcos will open up its quest for a title at home against Oaks Christian, who went 13-4 in the regular season and earned the Marmonte League title. First serve is set for Wednesday, April 23 at 2 p.m.

These two teams have met twice during the regular season, with the Royals coming out on top 4-1 in February and 5-0 in early April.

Santa Barbara High (Div. 2)

The Dons finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-7 and tied for third place in the Channel League standings. As a result, Santa Barbara High was slotted into the Div. 2 bracket.

Santa Barbara High will also begin the postseason at home, hosting Tri-Valley League champion Foothill Tech (17-3) on Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. at East Beach.

While the two teams have not faced off this season, they have both taken on Ventura High, a Division 1 team. The Dons dropped both matchups by scores of 3-2 and 4-1, while Foothill Tech was swept, 5-0.

Dos Pueblos (Div. 2)

The Chargers will also represent the Channel League in the Div. 2 playoffs after a 7-11 regular season and a third-place finish alongside the Dons in league.

Dos Pueblos will head down to Riverside for the opening round to take on Hillcrest, who is 12-3 on the season and won the Ambassador League title. First serve is set for Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

Laguna Blanca (Div. 3)

The Owls’ 12-5 finish in the regular season and second-place standing in the Tri-Valley League was good for a spot in the CIF-SS Div. 3 playoffs.

Laguna Blanca will remain at home for its opener, welcoming Almonte League champion Bell Gardens (13-4) to Hope Ranch. The match will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

Bishop Diego (Div. 3)

The Cardinals rounded out the local playoff competitors, earning a spot in the Div. 3 bracket after going 11-5 in the regular season and placing third in the Tri-Valley League.

Bishop Diego will host its first-ever playoff matchup at Cardinal Beach on Tuesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. against Mayfair, which went 7-5 in the regular season and earned an at-large bid out of the Gateway League.
