Dos Pueblos flag football began the 2026 campaign with a 28-6 victory over Santa Ynez High on Thursday in Santa Ynez.

Junior quarterback Ava Taji was in control for the Chargers, throwing a pair of touchdowns and rushing in one as well.

Taji connected with Brooklyn Hedricks and Ruby Streatfeild on the touchdown passes, with Hedricks also hauling in two point-after conversions.

Streatfeild also rushed for a touchdown, while Nya Ribbins and Makyla Watt each had sacks on the defensive end.

Santa Barbara High 38, Hueneme 12

The Dons secured their second win in as many games this season with a convincing win over Hueneme on Thursday.

It was all Santa Barbara High in the first half, as it dominated on the defensive end and raced out to a commanding 26-0 lead at halftime.

In the first half, touchdowns came on a 10-yard rush by Shea Gannon, a 50-yard rush by Elina Stump, a passing score from Laila Hernandez to Stump and a 25-yard pick six by Vanessa Esparza.

The two teams went back-and-forth in the second half, with the Dons scoring on a 50-yard pitch and catch from Lylee Harris to Esparza and a 27-yard rushing touchdown by Sophia Olmedo.

“This was another great effort by our entire team,” Santa Barbara High head coach Travis Manach said. “We didn’t have to lean on one or two individuals tonight.

“We wanted to go 2-0 this week while playing at home. We have a stretch of road games coming up that will be a good test for us as we continue non-league action.”

The duo of Aurelia Agredano and Alexandra Arnold led the way for the Dons on the defensive side of the ball.

Santa Barbara High (2-0) will be on the road against Simi Valley on Tuesday.
