San Marcos flag football took care of business with a 36-6 rout of Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks on Thursday at Warkentin Stadium in Santa Barbara.
The Royals opened the scoring in the first on a 15-yard passing touchdown from Victoria Aldana to Bella Bazylewicz, with the duo also converting on the two-point attempt.
Later in the first, Piper Kittle came up with a 57-yard pick-six for the Royals to extend the lead to 14-0 heading into the second.
San Marcos continued to pull away with another 15-yard passing score from Aldana to Kittle, and Kittle scored the extra point to make it 21-0.
The Royals’ defense continued to dominate the opening half as Jaylee Perez got into the backfield for a safety to bring the advantage to 23-0 at halftime.
The third quarter was more of the same, as the San Marcos defense maintained the shutout and Aldana found Bazylewicz for a 15-yard score. Perez’s extra-point reception expanded the lead to 30-0.
Notre Dame got on the board with a quarterback keeper, but Bazylewicz put the cherry on top of the victory with a 38-yard rushing touchdown to bring the game to its final score of 36-6.
Norah Leonardi was on fire on the defensive end, accumulating five sacks. Meanwhile, Kittle had two interceptions and Marilyn Monroy tallied one interception and one sack.
Aldana completed 15-of-23 pass attempts for 138 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
Dos Pueblos 56, Channel Islands 0
The Chargers ran away with a lopsided road victory over Channel Islands on Thursday.
Ruby Streatfeild was on fire for Dos Pueblos, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing in three scores as well.
Brooklyn Hedricks hauled in a pair of these touchdown passes, while Kindah Ahmad-Reda and Jane Gibson each got into the end zone once.
Hedricks also brought in two interceptions, including a pick-six, on the defensive end. Gracie Baker had an interception of her own, and Makyla Watt, Nya Ribbens and Yaretzi Arredondo all picked up sacks.
